June reading plans/possibilities | 2020

Y’all it’s somehow it’s finally/already(?) June. 2020 is a weird year. But the first of the month calls for a reset in reading plans.

First up: Pride Month reads. For this pic I pulled a selection of the Lambda Literary award winners and finalists from my shelves. I’ve been meaning to read JY Neon Yang’s Tensorate series for months now, so I’m finally getting to it this month. But obviously I’m eager to get to the rest for these as well (The Grief Keeper won the YA Lambda award today!)

Next up: my anti-racist education. I got a jump start on my reads yesterday, starting with the 28-day journaling project in Me and White Supremacy by Layla F. Saad and started the Stamped remix by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X Kendi. I’m on the list for some other titles as well, so I plan to fit these important titles in between my fiction this month.

And finally: I’ll be reading all of the Nalo Hopkinson for Caribbean Heritage month. Joking, not all of/only NH’s work, but I own Midnight Robber and The Salt Roads on audio, so I am prioritizing my owned books. I am hoping I can fit in some Kacen Callender books and Patsy as well, which also won a Lambda today!

Recognize any of these titles and wanna help me out prioritizing? Or have any recommendations based on these categories? HMU

Happy reading, bookworms!!
