Who am I
I’m a 20-something woman living in Washington, D.C., and I work in media. One of the most telling things about me was that within the first month of moving to this city is I had gone to zero bars but six bookstores and three different library branches.
How I read
As the name of the blog might suggest, I’m an avid audiobook consumer. I wasn’t always this way; I didn’t grow up with books on tape or anything. But a chain of weird circumstances pushed me to audiobooks (in-depth post here) and now it’s the majority of what I read. Picking up physical books nowadays dooms that book spending months on my nightstand, and eBooks are the reason my iPad is on airplane mode 24/7- 365 so they won’t expire. Though I imagine that may change a bit if I start reading more ARCs (if only there were audio ARCs!!)
So, audiobooks are my happy place. Most come from my local libraries, with the occasional free trial of Audible and Scribd subscription. I usually have a couple going at the same time, one for myself on my commute and one that I buddy read with my S.O.
What I read
2018 has been the year of epic fantasy and science fiction of me, but there are very few genres that I won’t read. I love nonfiction, especially on niche science topics. Historical fiction, romance and manga are what I read least, but they certainly not banned from any future TBRs.
